SATURDAY 10/13/2011
On Saturday, we will be having our fundraising pancake breakfast at the Heritage Village in Arborg. If you are thinking you might be hungry on Saturday morning, come for breakfast. $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children 10 and under. Also - same time, same place, there will be bake sale happening. Should be a good event. Add Comment NEXT WEEK-END 10/07/2011
Our next big-event will be happening here in Arborg next week-end. We have had lots of people coming forward to help out with that so hopefully we will have a good turn-out. Included will be a bake sale which some friends from our church are organizing. If you are nearby and can make it on October 15th, come and have breakfast in Arborg. WE HAVE A WINNER! 09/25/2011
The Lotto 50/50 Draw we were running has been won. Total proceeds were $200.00 and there was one winner. $100.00 was won by Carla Desjardins of Fisher Branch, MB. We plan on doing another one of these and now that we have had a practice, we hope the next one will be much bigger. We'll keep you posted. MJCCC 09/24/2011
Today in Winnipeg, some of the members of the MJCCC (Manitoba Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre) had a bake sale with the proceeds going to our fundraising efforts. The total raised was $583.30! In addition, we recieved a generous donation for $200.00 at the event. Thanks again to all who helped make this possible. LONG OVERDUE 09/23/2011
Well, this post is way overdue. Sorry about the delay, but such is the life of a school principal / teacher in September. Our Bud, Spud and Steak (BSS) event was a success. We sold a total of 261 tickets, and 227 people showed up. The Silent Auction was quite popular and, in the end, we had some pretty great prizes. The 50/50 draw also raised close to $300.00 (our half of the proceeds). In total, we raised between $5000 - $6000. Once again, thanks to all who attended, helped out, donated, etc... It was greatly appreciated and we couldn't have pulled it off without your support. Our next event will be a pancake breakfast here in Arborg on October 15th. It will be held at the St. Nicholas Parish Hall which is part of the Arborg & District Multicultural Heritage Village. 100 DOLLARS 09/02/2011
Our first rounf of the Lotto 50/50 fundraiser closed today. Total raised was 200 dollars so the prize will be 100. We will be checking off numbers until we have a winner.....AND..... we will be starting a new one for the next month. Now that we have done a trial run we hope to get more people involved and sell more with a goal of raising a thousand or more. Also, it is the last few days before our deadline for selling Bud, Spud, Steak tickets. We have exceeded our "break even" point in sales so that is great. Check out my Event on facebook or contact us at (204) 376-5499 for tickets. Our GETTING BUSY 08/29/2011
Well, I attended a Dept. of Education workshop on Grade 11 History today. I will have a principal's meeting on Thursday and will be at one or the other of my two schools the rest of the week. So it's back to work. Still, we are pressing on with the fundraising. Life will be very busy. Our Bud, Spud, Steak ticket selling is at urgent stage now. We only have a few days left to have our final numbers in. We would really like to sell more tickets. If you are already coming, bring a friend or two. If not, get a few tickets and we'll see you there. Thanks. LAST WEEK! 08/28/2011
We need to have our final numbers in to Tijuana Yacht Club by Tuesday the 6th so this is our last week of selling tickets. We have a "need to sell" and a "want to sell" number. We haven't reached either yet but sales have picked up dramatically. If you are coming, thanks and maybe you have a few friends that you haven't thought of yet who would like to join you. The more the merrier. There are lots of different seating arrangements at TYC so invite as many friends as you like and you can all get a spot together. Let us know before it's too late. WOW! 08/24/2011
We did it. We had another BBQ today and my goal was to sell 100 burgers. We had 10 dozen buns and ended up withabout 8 buns at the end. We sold about 110 burgers! Also, since this will be our last BBQ for awhile it was nice to see that we sold most of our supplies with not a lot left over. Many thanks to our friend Kim Friesen and her daughters who have been there to help with all our BBQ's. Tody her mother also came to help. It was great to see the success and generosity of local people. Many people stopped by just to leave a donation as they had already had lunch. Thanks. Today's BBQ raised about $400.00. TOMORROW 08/23/2011
Tomorrow will be our last planned BBQ. My goal is 100 burgers. We will also be selling Bud, Spud, Steak tickets. If you are in the area and reading this, come over for lunch. A hamburger, bag of chips and a drink for $4.00. | AuthorTim Beyette, father of Manami Beyette who has been approved as a candidate for an innovative therapy overseas. Archives |
